Pumpkin Tradition

We have had traditions that stick and ones that don't. Carving pumpkins is one that has stuck and we've done it every year. I love to do this. Even though I am the one that seems to have to clean out the inside of every pumpkin and it makes a huge mess. I love it. I love cooking the seeds after wards. I love seeing the kids get excited and come up with all of there own ideas. I love Halloween! We carved the pumpkins this year the Monday before Halloween for FHE. Tony was a little later then planned, but all went well except for Ben fell asleep on the floor. We tried to wake him up and get him all excited again to do the pumpkins. He wasn't having it... he was walking around, came over to the table even, and then made a sharp turn and sleepily climbed up and over the back of the couch and fell back to sleep like this....
We then decided that we should just put the poor kid to bed... Tony saved his pumpkin to carve later with him... they ended up coloring on them instead later in the week.. I just realized that I don't have pictures of that:(Bekah didn't realize what we were getting into at this point, she was really excited since Erik was so excited. Erik had the best time. He had been planning the face on his pumpkin for weeks. This day couldn't of come fast enough....

Bekah's finished product... (Tony helped her)
Erik's finished product....
Then here is my pumpkin...

Besides that fact that we were missing Ben, it was an enjoyable time.

We always try to have this tradition, but it hasn't work successfully. Your pumpkins are great...and I love that you captured Ben sleeping. =)
