As most of you know, the boys are 2 years and 2 days apart. So, each year, so far... I've had a little bit of a challenge. The parties usually end up being HUGE. So, since we are down right broke right now. We tried really hard to keep it simple. (Which is also hard for us... as most of you know... we Think BIG most of the time.) So, since the kids all wanted to see "UP", we decided that this gives us good reason to go see it. SO, they each got to bring a friend and made it a "Late Night". When the kids first got to our house at about 3pm we blew up balloons... lots of balloons and put paper inside that had things written on them. Then we had the kids go around the house and gather up some things that they thought the bunch of balloons that we had could lift. This it the little train house being lifted.
Then after the two activity's, Tony was back with the Pizza. We all ate and then headed off to the Movie. When we returned, we had them all sit, jump, and poke at the balloons to try and pop them. Then whatever it said inside, they got and it went into their goody bags to take home.
It wasn't so easy, so Tony soon took a pin and started poking it as they sat on it.
Then we enjoyed the cup cakes and ice cream.
Tony took all the kids home at about 10pm. I was surprised how wired all of them were still at that point. Of course they did have the sugar boost! As the party took place on Ben's birthday. Erik had Megan's blessing on his birthday. We sang to them both with the family... they don't really look happy in this picture, but it is mostly because I pulled them away from cousins.
It was a celebration of life in many ways. Birthdays, Blessing, and Tony's Parents Anniversary.
